Beauty standards have decided what society sees as attractive since the beginning of modern civilization. And depending on where you are around the world and when, these ideals change. But there’s a problem with this, it treats beauty as a trend that we’re expected to adjust to. Also, these “beauty standards” are unrealistic, especially in a world of almost 8 BILLION people. That lack of representation is what inspired BOLD Cosmetics; we believe that EVERYONE is beautiful in their own way and should be celebrated
ABOUT THE FOUNDER
The BOLD Cosmetics founder, Roselyn Lopez, is a licensed cosmetologist who’s always had a passion for self-expression through beauty. From makeup looks to experimentation with different haircuts and colors, she’s never been afraid to explore the unconventional. The responses to her styles were always full of admiration, with people saying they wish they were bold enough to do the same. Feeling empowered by pushing both personal and societal boundaries around what’s considered beautiful, Roselyn wanted to encourage others to find their own confidence. With a starting focus on the power of lipstick, BOLD Cosmetics was born.
